WHAT A WASTE!

This will start off sounding like a bad joke.

A guy walks into a camera shop and says….

Seriously tho, he says to me, I need a new lens for my camera. He says that when he looks through it all he sees is the person in front of him and he can't zoom in our out. I said Ah, ok, you must have a lens that's specifically for portraits. Do you know what type of lens it is? He says Canon. I said ok, but do you know if it's 50, 90, or 100mm, something like that? He looks at me all pissed off and says… Do you know what hook to use to catch a blue Marlin? Or how to catch a Barramundi? I'm like… ah No? And then he says then how do you expect me to know what lens I have?

Now I'm thinking to myself… you BOUGHT the 'effin camera! You should KNOW what the hell you BOUGHT! I said, well ok, then, what do you want to use the camera for? He said taking pictures! By now I'm about to slap him upside the head. Then says, I'll just bring in all the lenses we have for this camera and you can tell me what I need. Uh… no I can't, not unless you tell me what sort of pictures you intend to take. So I immediately told him to get an all-in-one lens. Like an 18-200mm lens. This would allow for him to take landscape shots as well as zoom in for closeups. And this is assuming he bought an SLR, because, he doesn't know what he bought!

The wife standing next to him then says… maybe we should read a book on how to use this camera instead of wasting a couple grand on it and it's still sitting in the bag.

I nodded and said, even a class might help. The guy grumbles and says, I'll just bring all my lenses in and you can tell me what I need… he walks out, wife in tow.

Bloody idiot!

Seriously tho? If you're considering a camera, find out what you want to use it for before going out and wasting your money on a high end professional camera and then coming in to a completely different store and frustrating the hell out of a sales girl when you can't figure out how to use it!
